Hey guys, Remi here!! It's officially been a week since I had my freedom ride from the shelter and it's been a big week!!! My scabs are all healed up, my fur is growing back, nice and shiny, I've been eating well and am up to 65 pounds now and I finished up all my vaccines! Once I get neutered I'll be officially ready to go, so get your applications in now!!
My foster said people don't appreciate good boys pottying in the house, so I have learned to use the bathroom outside. I'm now on day 4 of being accident free! I was also told that I had to learn "manners" so I've learned that I need to sit when asking for treats and am learning not to jump (but I'm just SO EXCITED to get human attention, sometimes I can't help myself). We went for a walk down by the river today and I got to test out the water While I enjoyed the cool water on my feet, I have learned the joys of air conditioning and let me tell you, it's so much better than the 5 years I spent as a lawn ornament!! While I've been told I still have puppy like energy, I also know when to settle down, and even sleep through the night laying on the floor next to my fosters bed. Foster lady says she has to work to feed me, and while I'm sad to see her leave for the day and will sing my sorrows momentarily, I've realized that she always comes back so I just settle down and wait patiently in my kennel for her return!!
I would love to find a permanent home with someone who appreciates all the love that I have to give! I'm a people pleaser and haven't met a person I didn't immediately love, but am still working on some manners (like not jumping up when greeting children) and leash skills. I love my foster dog brothers and would be more than happy to have another dog in the house! I met a cat and was a little confused about what to do with him, so I just sniffed him until he ran away. I would probably learn to coexist with one of them pretty easily.
I'm currently being fostered in Md.
