Bernice

Welcome Bernice, a 5-6 year old Smooth Coated Saint Bernard, to the #ASAR rescue family! This sweet girl needs a few pounds but she's definitely petite! She got her freedom ride yesterday!

Neli sent her to me the night before, begging and pleading, so all I could do was reach out to a friend in hopes she had a spot to save her for us! She did!!!

We saved her from Tulsa Animal Welfare yesterday thankfully to a great friend who will do isolation a week or 2 to be sure she's not infected with something that could endanger our others here!

We have had to pass up many lately in the big Metropolitan Shelters because we do not have the ability to Isolate at our place. They have seen bad cases of Canine Influenza, Strep Zoo among the many other standard ones like kennel cough. This requires seperate ventilation, seperate quarters from all other dogs until cleared. Our facility is open and all on same ventilation systems. It literally could shut us down for months if our others become infected.

I truly need some quarantine/isolation fosters locally but today this girl is safe thanks to Beth Bristow Barnyard Animal Rescue who is a very close friend of our rescue! This is a temporary, fewxweek commitment, you can use your garage as temps are getting cooler as long as they don't have contact with your other animals. It's very temporary!

Allies in rescue help us all! Make allies, work together because rescue is about saving lives together, not ego or competition!
